First we teach you the ABC’s of French wine and how to do a wine tasting.
We focus on 3 of the major French wine regions at a time.
The wines we select come from any of these famous French wine regions: Bordeaux, Burgundy, Côte du Rhône, Alsace, Loire, Provence, Languedoc, Southwest France, Corsica and Champagne.
Next, we teach you how to read a French wine label. Most French wines don’t tell you what varietal is used in their wines unless you ask the winemaker. So ordering a “Chardonnay” in France will likely result in quizzical expressions from your waiter. We teach you how to get around this and how to sound like a pro when ordering wine at a restaurant here in Paris, France.
Next, we take you out to our favorite St. Germain des Prés tapas and small plates bar. Here you get to try out your new wine pairing skills straight away. Order a small plate of something delicious and then choose the wine you’d like to pair with it.
Taking notes and offering your own opinions of what you think tastes good with what is part of the process. And don’t worry! There are no wine snobs here!
